Grandma Kay Comes to Visit!

We had a really nice weekend last weekend when Mike's mom, Grandma Kay came to visit. She drove all the way from Springfield, Missouri and we are so thankful she made the trip. It had been a little over a year since we had seen her and needless to say the kids have really grown.
She went with us to the football game on Friday night and got to see John perform (Addi and Landon did their own performance in the bleachers while the band played songs, so funny!) Then, on Saturday we went out shopping. She got each of the kids a present and then took our whole family out to dinner. It has been a long time since our entire family has been out to dinner together, so that was very nice.
Sunday we went to church and then relaxed the rest of the day. Monday the kids had to go to school but the weather so cool that we stayed outside and played with the little ones for almost two hours. After the little ones laid down for a nap, Grandma told us about her growing up years in the country where they did not even have running water indoors. She also told us about her fun with poodle skirts. It was interesting to learn more about her life.
Grandma hit the road for her long journey back on Tuesday morning after the kids left for school. She made it home safely that night. We are so thankful for her visit and for the good "catching up time" we had. She and Mike had several opportunities to spend some time together and enjoy talking! We will miss her!
Below are some pics from the weekend!!!

Even Mickey had to be in the picture.....

For a child who won't eat anything it was very weird when Addi was soooo into Spanish rice. Who knew???

I am so glad that you had fun with Grandma Kay. Hopefully she will look at your blog this week. I am glad that Mike was able to take Monday off to hang out with her. I am sure that was nice hearing about her life. Sounds like a fun, relaxing time. That is funny about the spanish rice. At least you know now!
